An Unnecessary Conflict Ahead.  Speech at the Centre for Global Studies Seminar March 21st at the Carlton Towers Hotel, in which he warns that over-hyped and evangelical emphasis on decarbonising creates an  completely avoidable conflict with nearer term energy security and downgrades the needs of poorer and developing countries. He calls for a far more compelling message if the route to a greener planet is to be secured. Present obsessions with carbon pricing and rationing, and negative emphasis on taxing and penalising motoring, flying and even on individual activities, will undermine all hopes for a a successful long term campaign to curb  greenhouse gases.
